The Biofuels Association of Australia (BAA) will be holding its conference in Sydney on Friday, 31 October.
With the theme “A New Energy for Biofuels” the conference’s program of speakers will lead important discussions on the current developments affecting the industry as well as the policies of federal and state governments.
“The aim of the conference is to encourage a higher level of debate about some of the negative external issues not currently being costed by our economy and to lay a foundation for new investment in the renewable fuels sector,” said Gavin Hughes, CEO of the BAA.
The conference’s program of influential speakers and industry experts will cover such subjects as innovation, air quality, fuel security, investment and economic benefits. Speakers will include the NSW Minister for Resources and Energy and Special Minister of State Hon. Anthony Roberts MP, the leader of the Energy White Paper Taskforce Margaret Sewell, and Dr Geoff Morgan, Associate Professor at the University of Sydney.
Other speakers include Graham Blight who is a Director of the NRMA, Ivor Frischknecht who is the CEO of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and Oliver Yates the CEO of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.
The BAA is the peak industry body representing biofuel producers, marketers, retailers and others with the purpose of providing leadership and facilitating the building of a sustainable, economically viable Australian biofuels industry that is consistent with natural and community interests and environmental standards.
