Bidding open for Volvo prime mover

As part of the 2012 Australian Trucking Convention, a Volvo FH540 Euro 5 prime mover is being auctioned. Unlike previous years, all bids must be made prior to the Convention so that the handover can occur at the Auction Dinner. Final Bids must be received by 5:00pm Monday 30 April 2012.

Proceeds from the auction will support safety research and the ATA’s campaigns for no carbon tax on trucks, lower registration charges and truck laws.

The Volvo prime mover is rated for B-double combinations.  The winning bidder will also receive a Convention package, which includes:
• Full delegate registration to the Australian Trucking Convention;
• Return airfares and accommodation at the Australian Trucking Convention for two;
• Special guest attendance at the Volvo Night at the Races Auction Dinner for the handover of the prime mover;
• A feature story in Prime Mover magazine;
• A feature story in Volvo’s customer magazine; and
• A business photographic session with acclaimed truck photographer Gavin Blue.

Live auctions will also be taking place at the Auction Dinner, with a range of items including a CIMC trailer, a UD 6×2 rigid cab chassis with 14 pallet curtainsider body by CIMC and two Thermo King SB330 refrigeration units.
