BharatBenz to present 17 new truck models

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has announced that it will bring a total of 17 new truck models of the BharatBenz brand to the Indian market by the year 2014.

“Our new medium-duty models will be setting new standards of efficiency and dynamics on Indian roads – in particular when rising fuel prices become an issue in India,” said Marc Llistosella, Managing Director and CEO of DICV.

“Our customers trust our reliable products. This is demonstrated by our sales successes for the heavy-duty Bharat-Benz trucks.”

“India is an important growth market for Daimler Trucks next to China. That is why we are banking on well-established global product platforms that are tailored to the needs of the Indian market,” said Dr Albert Kirchmann, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation.

“Technically, the new BharatBenz trucks are based on the same platform of Daimler Trucks as the well-known Fuso Canter model. Thus, the new BharatBenz models are fuel efficient and are additionally fitted to the difficult road conditions in India.”
