In-line with the global restructuring of parent company Daimler AG,Daimler Truck & Bus Australia/Pacific has changed its organisational and management structure.
According to Daimler, the new structure forms the basis of a “renewed brand dedication focus” for Mercedes-Benz, Fuso and Freightliner, with sales and service now co-ordinated by brand-dedicated General Managers.
According to Daimler, that new structure allows for a greater focus on the specific needs of each Mercedes-Benz, Fuso and Freightliner customer across sales and aftersales.
The team is now led by Daniel Whitehead (pictured), ex-Executive Vice President of Aftersales China. Whitehead succeeds Kolja Rebstock as Managing Director, who will return to the Daimler AG headquarters as Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Mercedes-Benz Vans for Asia, Africa, Central & Eastern Europe.
Daniel Whitehead began his career at Paccar Australia and spent the past 15 years in various roles within the Daimler corporation.
Another change under the restructure is the alignment of Daimler Truck & Bus Australia/Pacific under Daimler Trucks North America.
Mark Lampert, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing of the company’s North American division, commented, “We welcome this opportunity to play a bigger role in the region. Australia/Pacific has historically been one of our largest export markets. I am confident that the new Daimler Truck & Bus organisational structure and management team led by Daniel Whitehead will ensure continued success in the future.”
