At the recent Transport Forum WA 2010 Industry Awards, LNG supplier EVOL LNG won the Department of Mines & Petroleum Resources Safety–Dangerous Goods Innovation Company of the Year Award. The company won the award for its innovative approach to the transport and handling of LNG on trucks to remote mine sites and truck refuelers as well as its use of LNG as a fuel in its trucks.
“We are delighted to accept this award which promotes industry excellence and professionalism in the Western Australian Road Transport Industry,” said Bill Hazell, LNG Sales Manager, West Coast. “Naming our LNG business as Dangerous Goods Innovation Company of the Year recognises the commitment and work of the EVOL LNG team. Over the last few years they have worked hard to prove the commercialisation of LNG in the Australian market and to achieve the economic and environmental benefit that comes from consuming LNG.”
In recent years, EVOL LNG has established TAFE training programs on LNG powered vehicles, run training workshops for operators on standards required to work on LNG vehicles and tankers, trained LNG drivers and operators on basic characteristics of LNG and how to respond to any LNG incident as well as training FESA and other emergency service personnel on the basic characteristics of LNG.
