Auswide Landscape Solutions has long been amplifying its value proposition with a fleet of Isuzu tippers.
Since 2020, the Melbourne-based groundskeeping business has specialised in the design and installation of outdoor playgrounds for the childcare industry, combining a technical background in the space with skills in construction and facilities management.
The company has been using Isuzu bodies to spread its service far and wide since its inception, and has most recently achieved this with a particular group of trucks from Geelong Isuzu — an NLR 45-150 AMT Tipper, NMR 60-150 Tri Tipper and a newly collected FSR 140-260 Auto with a custom tipper body.
The NMR 60-150 AMT Tri-Tipper offers noted advantages for Auswide Landscape Solutions’ urban operations, featuring a 6,000kg GVM and 8,000 kg GCM, as well as a 2,895 kg nominal payload.
The truck’s narrow-cab workhorse has a two-cubic-metre volume capacity steel body that tips in three directions, supported by multi-leaf rear suspension and an independent wishbone front suspension, ensuring a smoother ride for the driver.
According to Auswide Landscape Solutions co-Director, Tony Muscara, this manoeuvrability is critical when moving certain materials for children’s playgrounds.
“With the Tri-Tipper, there are multiple ways of tipping your load, which gives us options in hard-access areas or awkwardly shaped playgrounds,” he explained.
“This is important when you’re transporting playground sand. The Tri-Tipper doesn’t contaminate it like other equipment potentially might — you’re still in the truck and can tip it right into the sandpits.
“With Melbourne city traffic, I decided to go with the AMT to prevent clutch breakdown for us and make it easier for navigating congestion on the streets.”
Meanwhile, the FSR 140-260 Auto fulfils Auswide Landscape Solutions’ need for a larger truck capable of loading pallets, bins and other playground materials.
The FSR sports a customary load capacity of just over 8,000kg with a 14,000kg GVM.
Additionally, the truck features a turbocharged Isuzu 6HK1-TCC engine that outputs 191kW of power, and 761Nm of torque between 1,450-2,400rpm.
Also requiring a smaller tipper open to staff with standard car licences, Auswide Landscape Solutions chose a 3.5-tonne GVM NLR 45-150 AM Tipper.
This model handles large loads, underpinned by a four-cylinder 4JJ1-TCS engine providing 100kW of power at 2,800rpm and a 375Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,800rpm.
The choice to build its fleet of tippers varying in sizes has ostensibly paid off for Auswide Landscape Solutions, in terms of project deadlines and productivity for its teams, who are never left waiting for contractors to deliver.
“Our Isuzu Tippers are among the most frequently used tools on the job sites,” Muscara said.
“They can get into tighter spots and carry everything we need plus our staff. These multiple uses really highlight the flexibility that Isuzu Trucks delivers.”
Muscara and Auswide Landscape Solutions has a long-term strategy to continue growth across remaining Australian markets — one which Isuzu is seemingly integral to.
“We have big plans over the next 12 months,” Muscara said.
“This includes hiring more staff, expanding our equipment lockers and continuing to invest in Isuzu trucks with the support of Geelong Isuzu.”
