The Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Anthony Albanese, has announced the appointment of ATA chairman David Simon to the implementation board of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
According to Minister Albanese, the board will have representatives from each state and territory as well as three new industry representatives. The industry representatives are David Simon; executive director of the Australian Livestock and Rural Transport Association, Philip Halton; and deputy chair of the Australian Logistics Council, Andrew Ethell.
Minister Albanese said, “Working together with government representatives, the inclusion of these leading figures from the road freight sector will add depth to the key decisions around the shape of the national heavy vehicle regulator.”
