The ARTSA Institute (ARTSA-i) will host its Critical Issues Conference on 12 November in Melbourne under the title of Heavy Vehicle Braking & Technology.
The conference will be convened in conjunction with leading suppliers and manufacturers at the Life Saving Victoria headquarters in Port Melbourne.
The conference aims to inform participants about new braking and stability technologies in heavy vehicle transport.
Industry experts and regulators will discuss a range of topics including:
- NHVR ‘s proposed changes to the PBS standards, including Directional Stability Under Braking (DSUB).
- Current and future technologies.
- Modifications, maintenance and servicing issues.
ARTSA-i, formerly known as the Australian Road Transport Suppliers Association, was established in 2019 to respond to what it saw as the challenges in the rapidly changing Australian heavy vehicle industry by providing technical leadership in the transport sector.
It is positioned a leader in gathering and analysing information on the heavy vehicle transport industry and provides ARTSA-Data services to industry stakeholders, including detailed reports about market trends of the registration of prime movers, trailers and buses.
The Institute aims to:
- Influence the debate around innovation for the industry
- Provide evidence-based data and research to influence policy decisions.
- Provide guidance and training to industry and its members to improve the safety, productivity and environmental impacts of the industry.
ARTSA-i also seeks to support the industry and its members by providing:
- Information and training about technical matters.
- Investigations to improve heavy vehicle safety and productivity.
- Seminars, conferences and social events to inform members about technical matters.
- Regulators with reliable information about technical topics of importance to industry.
