Oversize logistics specialist, Ares has appointed an experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Manager.
Kane Pitman recently joined the company bringing over 25 years of experience and expertise in logistics, ISO standards, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and integrated management systems.
Pitman will operate within a structured, process-driven framework that integrates HSEQ compliance obligations with Ares’ operational requirements.
His role focuses on implementing systematic solutions that enhance HSEQ compliance and overall organisational performance.
Day-to-day, Pitman will integrate said HSEQ compliance into operational processes, develop and implement systematic, process-driven solutions to improve safety, environmental, and quality outcomes and equip teams with the resources and knowledge needed to work safely and efficiently.
He will report directly to Ares General Manager Davorin Jelaca who said Pitman was expected to drive a culture where safety excellence is inherent, not just compliance-based.
“Ares is entering an exciting phase of sustained growth, strategic acquisitions, and expansion into new markets,” Jelaca told Prime Mover.
“With these opportunities come new challenges that demand strong leadership and expertise. Kane brings extensive global experience and a proven track record in driving HSEQ excellence, making him an invaluable addition to guide Ares through this transformative period.
“His commitment to safety and passion for fostering cultural change align seamlessly with our vision of achieving operational excellence.”
Pitman, who previously worked as Senior HSEQ Manager at Toll Group and DB Schenker, said he
was committed to ensuring the team has the tools, knowledge, and resources to work safely and efficiently.
“My biggest driving force is to build a culture where employees are inherently motivated to pursue safety excellence, rather than just complying out of obligation,” said Pitman.
Ares has also recently unveiled an innovative transformer trailer solution designed to set a new benchmark in the industry the company said.
With the drop-frame configurations, the system accommodates transformers up to 200 tonnes and can often eliminate the need for a beamset solution.
For units without overhead clearance constraints, the solution offers even greater flexibility, ensuring safe and efficient transport for larger equipment.
“This advancement underscores Ares’ commitment to engineering excellence and delivering tailored solutions for complex logistical challenges,” said Jelaca.
Ares recently delivered two landmark projects: the West Gate Tunnel Project (WGTP) and Flyers Creek Wind Farm.
“Building on this success, we are now actively managing deliveries for the Warradarge 2 Wind Farm, reinforcing our commitment to supporting Australia’s renewable energy transition with precision and reliability,” said Jelaca.
