APT wins People Leadership Excellence award

Queensland freight company, All Purpose Transport (APT), took out the People Leadership Excellence award at the 2012 Annual Industry Awards held in Brisbane.

The award is testament to the company’s development program, Project APT, which aims at having all APT employees and subcontractors reach qualifications to above Certificate III in Transport and Logistics. The project is a joint venture with Transform, the transport and logistics industry skills body for Queensland.

“This project addresses our mantra that we’ve had in place at APT for decades. We know that having the best People will equal best business performance and this is another step forward to recognise the skills of our people and establish ourselves firmly as an Industry Employer of Choice,” General Manager for All Purpose Transport, Paul Kahlert, said.

“Being the first transport company in Australia to reach this goal will be a major achievement and we will be well on the way to completion by March 2013.”

APT will now go through to represent Queensland at the national Australian Trucking Association awards in 2013.
