Alex Stewart to take up role at Foton Trucks

Well known industry executive, Alex Stewart, has resigned from his position of Divisional Manager of Product Strategy, Marketing and Customer Care at Hino to take up the role of General Manager at Foton Trucks.

“After almost eight years at Hino the decision to resign was a hard one to make, but at my current stage of career and life and for my own personal reasons a new opportunity made it the right choice for myself and my family,” Stewart said.

Stewart has been a key member of the management team at Hino and should be well equipped to take on the challenge of bringing the Chinese Foton light and medium-duty trucks to the Australian market.

Ric Hull, Managing Director of Ateco, commended the job of incumbent GM Mark Griffiths. “Mark has handled the Foton Business virtually by himself and has done a great job, we will be sad to lose him,” he told CRTNews.

“However, I am delighted that Alex has decided to join us. He has not only worked at Hino, but UD and Scania and attaining someone of Alex’s calibre reflects our confidence in Foton Trucks as a long term brand in Australia.”
