A1 Roadlines acquires Isuzu FVD 1000

Traffic management specialist, A1 Roadlines, recently took hold of an Isuzu FVD 1000, auto-fitted with a Scorpion Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) supplied by American traffic management company, Traffix Devices.

The FVD 1000 unit was originally developed as a display model but was quickly snapped up by a traffic management and hire company and put to work in New South Wales.

The TMA works as a mobile energy absorbing crash cushion to protect motorists and workers in the forward working zone. An electronic message board has also been attached to the FVD 1000 Auto to warn motorists of any on-coming hazards and display directional arrows for alternative routes.

According to A1 Roadlines Production Manager, Tim Hohendorf, a digital video recording (DVR) device was also added to the FVD 1000, which records activities that are taking place around the TMA truck. “DVR is very important for mobile projects like line marking or road works, as you can record any accidents or near misses that may occur,” Hohendorf added.

Founded in 1972, A1 Roadlines supplies and manufactures line marking and traffic control equipment to local government, contractors and hire companies.
