50 shades of Kenworth

SRV Roadfreight Services has taken delivery of its 50th Kenworth prime mover in a handover ceremony involving representatives of the Brown & Hurley Group and Kenworth at the company’s Ormeau headquarters, south of Brisbane.

Dubbed ’50 Shades of Grey’ the K200 cabover is suitably finished with an array of chrome and polished accessories, joining the SRV Roadfreight fleet known for its quality presentation.

Kenworth number 50 was supplied by Brown & Hurley's Yatala branch and is powered by a Cummins ISX 600 engine, driving through an 18-speed Eaton transmission to Meritor 46 rear axles. Marking the delivery John Lees and Rob Griffin from Kenworth at Bayswater presented SRV Roadfreight Services Managing Director, Errol Cosgrove, with an engraved glass truck model. Brown & Hurley Yatala Dealer Principal, Paul Hurley, had T-shirts made for SRV staff in recognition of the delivery of the 50th Kenworth.

SRV recently celebrated its 15th anniversary and according to Errol the company maintains strong links with its suppliers. “We bought our first Kenworths in Melbourne but since moving to Queensland we have ordered all of our trucks through Col Jenkinson, Sakes Manager, at Brown & Hurley Yatala. The first two trucks Col supplied us are still in service with the company,” Errol says.

“We appreciate the service from both Kenworth and the Brown & Hurley Group with both companies looking after our needs. We run an all Cummins fleet and Brown & Hurley ensures we have a ready supply of parts to carry out our maintenance program and ensure minimum downtime.”

SRV Roadfreight Services operates 52 trucks and 85 trailers on general freight on the Eastern Seaboard and the new K200 will be utilised across its services.
